Amazon's Top Comics & Graphic Novels
Among other top book lists on amazon, they’ve made a list of my favorite medium—comics. Number 1 is…The Umbrella Academy…the most overhyped unsatisfying things written all decade! I read the first 2 issues and it’s like twilight in comic form—Just a sack of social retards with zero motivation to their actions.
I almost gave up after #1, but the rest of the...

New York Magazine Top 10 G-Novs
Gotta be honest only heard of 3 books on this this list and one I only is by an author I’ve read before. Only have I’ve been reaching out passed superhero comics in the past 5-6 months, but I’m not turning back. These will definitely fuel the fire.

Incredibles 2 Short
Jack-Jack Attack
Mah god. This is so good. The animation is good and the comedy is so good (as I’ve come to expect from pixar). Look at the girls shirt, it has movement! no longer do pixar characters have to wear skin tight clothes or spandex.
I hope they do more of these shorts in hype for The Incredibles 2.
The Dragonball Z Manga is Jawsome!
I was walking through the Manga aisle of Borders to purchase some other books and I saw they have a display of all the Dragonball mangas, Dragonball, Z, and GT. I remember reading my spoiled friends collection of Dragonball mangas in like 6th grade, and really loving it, it was quick, funny, easy to read and had fightan’—all-in-one. All these memories of watching and reading...

NPR's Best Graphic Novels of 2008
A very small list, but maybe they didn’t think it was a good year for grapic novels…
I read Good-Bye a month or two ago and it was very good, depressing, but still very good. And I heard about Local, written by Brain Wood, and Heavy Liquid, by Paul Pope, both of which I’ve read a couple of their books and enjoyed. As for the other 2, I haven’t heard of them , but...

Black Hole
Yuh, recently finished Black Hole by Charles Burns, and it was trippy as hell, totally freaked me out, but I loved it. If you’re in to indie type comics and want to read a freaky-thriller, mos def pick this up.
Also I found some awesome news about a movie based on Black Hole being made. Burns talks in this interview about signing off for the rights for a movie, but Burns says...
Arr-some Book Cover Designs of 2008
A lot of people probably don’t know that I’m a total faggot when it comes to graphic design and typography and etc. I will read novels based on the fact that the cover is awesome. I’m also a HUGE comic nerd and I find myself buying graphic novels and trades based on cover design, even though the cover artist and the penciller are 2 different people.
Anywho, one of my favorite...
